PSYCHOLOGIST & DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH

Dr. Sarah “Salli” Lewis is a clinical psychologist specializing in the neuropsychological evaluation of complex psychological and developmental issues for the past 20+ years. In addition to testing, she also manages CReATE’s Research Division, which focuses on the integration of clinical science and the practice of psychology.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University, Chicago, her M.A. from Western Carolina University, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University (in a combined adult and child-focused track). She completed her doctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center. Following, she held a faculty position at Marshall University, training doctoral graduate students in psychological research and practice. Most recently, she completed two additional years of post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology through Clinical Neuroscience Services of Western North Carolina.

Dr. Lewis is a scientist at heart. She believes that research is the foundation of good psychology, helping clinicians identify the most effective tools and techniques and ensuring that clients receive quality and effective intervention and assessment services.

She is passionate about helping children and adolescents, individuals, and families to better appreciate the unique nature of their strengths and challenges and using this information to develop a comprehensive plan to support success. Towards this end, she also maintains a small private practice, providing evidence-based treatment to individuals in her community.

In her free time, she loves to explore the world with her partner and (almost!) grown children, work in her monarch waystation garden, and support her community through service-oriented endeavors.
