Lisa Ware, Ph.D.

STAFF PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Lisa Ware is a psychologist with over 15 years of experience in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders, school-based problems, and mental health services. She attended UC Davis for her undergraduate degree and received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University. Dr. Ware completed her pre and postdoctoral training at the CAARE Center at UC Davis Medical Center and the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center’s Center on Child Abuse and Neglect.

Dr. Ware has worked in a variety of pediatric settings and held several academic appointments including serving as a professor and Director of Clinical Training for an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program. She worked for years in school-based mental health including conducting evaluations and providing therapy for neurodiverse students. Whether navigating developmental concerns, learning differences, or emotional or behavioral challenges, Dr. Ware is a compassionate ally for families throughout the assessment process.

Dr. Ware joined the CReATE team in 2021 when she relocated from California to western North Carolina. She is also PsyPact certified which allows her to travel to complete evaluations, upon request (37 states are part of PsyPact). In her free time, she enjoys gardening, baking, and exploring the region with her husband and two daughters.
